Pond Maintenance & Cleaning

During a pond cleaning, we drain and pressure wash the rocks and liner, vacuuming the debris from inside the water feature. We carefully remove aquatic plants and fish, holding them in tanks with original pond water. We save pond water whenever possible, treating any new water to eliminate harmful chemicals from the tap. After ensuring the ecosystem is healthy and safe, we carefully return the fish and wildlife.

Cleaning Frequency

We recommend cleaning most water features twice a year to prevent nutrient buildup that can disrupt water chemistry, cause an unsightly appearance, and harm pumps and animals. Ecological Benefit of Pond Cleaning

In most natural ponds and aquatic ecosystems, rainy seasons and storms flush nutrients and sediments periodically, keeping water parameters in check. This isn't possible in a closed system, like a small garden pond. To retain a healthy man-made ecosystem, routine and ecologically-responsible maintenance methods must be employed.
